Bad Rap On A Loving God

Bad Rap on a Loving God

First giving all Honor and Praise to the Lord above for all his Wonderful Blessing. Oh What a mighty God we serve!

How many of you remember hearing as a child your parent say; “I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.”

In my case, it was a little difference

When I disobey rules set by my Mom, she would say “ I may not have brought you into this world, but I can take you out.” You see, I’m a foster child, the courts removed my Brother, Sister and I at the age of 5. We were placed in the foster home of Mr. and Mrs. Newman. They were willing to receive the three of us so that we wouldn’t be separated.
My Mom and Dad are truly the Newman, they didn’t bring me into this world, but they raised me as their own. Now you can understand my Mom statement.

As children we were never disciplined for something we didn’t do; we were disciplined for failing to follow rules we knew were wrong, and our actions held consequences. Lost of my weekly allowance, time out in my room or my least favorite if warranted a spanking.

Whenever I received a spanking, I can hear my parents say; “This is going to hurt me more than its going to hurt you.”

I was thinking back then, no way I’m the one getting the spanking here. Why not let me spank you and see how it makes you feel? { I thought it, I wouldn’t dare say it}

Now as an adult, I understand that no parent wants to discipline their child. All Parents have high hopes for their children, and when the child let’s them down, it hurts the parent as well.
As Parents, we truly love our children and want what we feel is Best for them.
God Love you the same way; even though we all are guilty of sin, God wants a personal relationship with you.

John 3:16 KJV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

There are several keywords in this scripture, but let’s focus on one word at this time. That word is “WORLD.” The scripture doesn’t say GOD so love one group of people; it clearly states The World. There is a reason John said The World,

Genesis 1:1 NIV
“In the Beginning, God created the heaven and the Earth.”

As Christian we believe that God is the creator of the World, So God gave his son not for any one group but for the World.

Genesis 1:27 NKJV
God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him, male and female created he them”

All the people in this World are created in the image of the Lord. That scripture alone should make you rethink how you look at each other. We are all God’s Children, meant to serve him and each other. This is an area where I fall short, and dare I say we all fall short if we are truly honest with ourselves.

In the next few paragraphs let me preach “Yes I Did say Preach” to you on a subject God has placed in my Heart for this blog called “ Bad Rap on a Loving God.”

How many times have you heard someone say; “Your God.” Which is normally followed by some negative statement, Like If Your God truly exists why doesn’t he do something about the world today? Why was Your God always so angry in the Old Testament? My favorite is “Your God never does anything for those who don’t believe in Him!

Really!

I want to grab that person and say, the only reason you are here today is that the Lord I serve is a Loving God.

Now Please, however, DON”T GRAB anyone that is not a good idea.

That comment Your God is how the Devil uses the nonbeliever to attack YOU! The Devil wants to cause rebellion and deception. The Devil is trying to put you in a defense mode take your mind of Jesus. He knows when you are on the defense you will get frustrated, and in your frustration, you can become confused, even find yourself questioning WHY GOD!

BUT!

The way we attack the negative term Your God is with God’s Living Word, you see the Devil has no defense against The Living Word.

Case in Point!

In 1 Kings Chapter 17th, Elijah The Prophet was staying with a Widow in Zarephath as the Lord had commanded him to. The son of the Widow became gravely ill and died; she then blamed Elijah and his God. Isn’t that what we do ourselves sometimes? When all seems lost, we look for someone to blame. We yell “WHY ME LORD, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME, LORD, COME ON LORD WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. You know how I know these words to be TRUE because I said the same things to God when my daughter die. I BLAMED HIM WRONGLY. I was in pain, instead of asking him for comfort I blamed him for my lost. Not realizing that in my Lost his presence was there with me, I was the one turning him away, but Thank God he never left my side. Even Now His Presence still comforts me.

AMEN

As we go back to 1 Kings Chapter 17th
We see Elijah took the young man to his room upstairs, pray to God and God restored his life. Elijah then brought the young man back to his mother. The mother’s response when Elijah gave her back her son alive is priceless;

1 Kings 17:24 NIV
“Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the LORD from your mouth is the truth.”

When the Spirit of God is in you, God’s word comes alive; You speak the truth, the Devil knows this isn’t a battle he is going to win. My Mom would say; “He would put his head between his tail and run” I’m still trying to figure out how he would do that, but I would never question my mom. LOL

Now let me show you how you can use the words, “Your God” to your advantage and truly confuse the Nonbeliever. Say to them, let’s drop the Y off Your God and say Our God. You asked me why doesn’t Our God do something about the world today? Simple he wants us together to do something, he created us to love one another.

John 13:34 & 35 NIV:
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.”

If we Love one another the way God Loves us, do you think we would have all the issues we have today? No, because our Focus would be on Serving Our God and each other. We would speak life into each other; our worldview would change from selfishness to Godliness. What an impact that would make. No More it’s all about me.

You asked me why Our God was always so angry in the Old Testament? I’ll tell you, His anger was brought on by our people who fail to follow his laws even after the prophets warned them of what would happen if they continue in their wicked ways. Time and Time again Our God forgave us, as we continue to sin. God knew we would continue to sin. Thank God he sent his son Jesus Christ to bear our sins.

John 3:16 NIV
6 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

That’s a God of Love; Our God loves us so much he sacrifices his only Son so that we may live in eternity with him.
WOW What a Blessing

You asked me why Our God never does anything for those who don’t believe in Him! You fail to realize that the reason you woke up this morning and have the things you have is by the grace. Jesus Loves everyone; he ate with the sinners, he healed the sick and died for your sins. Do you know that every day Jesus is standing in front of you knocking at your heart asking you to let him in, John statement in Revelation 3:20 NIV show how Jesus is always seeking us,

Revelation 3:20 NIV
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

Our God is always seeking us; he doesn’t want us to die in sin, he wants us to be with him for eternity.

Jesus said in John 14:2 NIV
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you.

Jesus has a place prepared for us in Heaven all we have to do is accept him as our Lord and Savior.
The world will tell us that we can never live up to God’s Love, I’m telling you Don’t believe in the Bad Rap.
OUR GOD loves us so much that he demonstrated that love when he died on the Cross while we were still sinners.

Romans 5:8 NIV
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

If you haven’t accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savoir, But want to learn more about Our God and his plans for you. I strongly recommend you find a Good Bible Base Church, speak with the Pastor about what God is saying to you, read your Bible daily and keep God First in your life. He will make a difference in you.
Amen
