COVID DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THE ENEMY

             I was speaking with my sister this morning about another lost one in our family due to COVID and the impact it is having on everyone life in general. The fact that we have lost as many as 350,000 lives in less than 10 months is truly a sad fact. It doesn’t matter what your faith is, your skin color or if your rich or poor, COVID effect everyone and at this point I don’t know many people who doesn’t know of someone they know that may have been affected in some way by the virus. My blog today is not going to address any political stance it’s going to address a conversation that Jesus had with Peter, John wrote in John 21: 15-17

¹⁵ So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of ^[b]Jonah, do you love Me more than these?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I ^[c]love You.”

He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”

¹⁶ He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of ^[d]Jonah, do you love Me?”

He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I ^[e]love You.”

He said to him, “Tend My sheep.”

¹⁷ He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of ^[f]Jonah, do you ^[g]love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?”

And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.”

Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep

Jesus questions Peter on his love for him, this meeting took place after Jesus had risen from the Dead and while there are many wonderful things that can be taken from this conversation mainly i.e. “Jesus restore Pete after he deny Jesus three times” I believe there is message in there for us today Christian and Non-Christian, that is where I would like to address the topic above “COVID DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THE ENEMY

I was playing golf in North Carolina, and for the record when I play, I really don’t like talking with people I’m playing with because I feel it takes me out of my game. “Not like I really have a game” If you ever playing golf with me, your safe if you’re standing in the middle of the fairway, it’s those in the other fairway that need to worry. 

 This person I was playing with made this statement “This COVID virus has been Great for Golf, you can walk the course or ride in a cart by yourself, great for social distancing and more people are taking up the game” my comment back was wow and I continue playing. It wasn’t until that morning while I was speaking with my Sister on the effect COVID was having on her Church and the things her Pastor and well as other Pastor in our area are doing to reach those who couldn’t attend worship services now due to social distancing or the fear of contracting COVID. It was then that I saw COVID gave Church leader the opportunities to look for other ways to reach those not able to attend. I read there was a great demand for online worship services, Church were hiring online Pastors and more People were turning to Christ then ever before, now that deserve a better or larger WOW comment back then my golf one. 

Now I’m sure someone is saying what does that have to do with John 21: 15-17? I believe the Lord gave me that scripture to tell everyone that Jesus want us to Feed and Tend his sheep. As Christian the Lord is saying to you right now “If You Love Me Feed and Tend to One Another” Now is the time to show as Christian that we serve a God of Love and he wants us to show that Love my not only sharing his story but by showing Love to others in time of need. I hear people say, “I love the Lord he has been so Good to Me in Good and Bad times”, how about sharing that same Love to others right now in these tough times. Let them see the Light of the Lord that shine in you, now you go share it with others. Now I know there are Non-Christian out there that may read this and may say that you are just trying to turn more people to Christ and that stated is so very true. Yet what I’m also saying to Believers and Non-Believers is this is the time to take care of one another share the Love and Stop the Hating.

COVID has had and will continue to have a major impact on how we live moving forward, and it’s easy to blame everything that has happen so far on the virus, but it doesn’t have to be the Enemy. We are starting to Learn Christian or Non-Christian that there are ways to beat the enemy, by taking care of ourselves to protect other.

 We have also learned that COVID doesn’t stop us from getting the Lord messages out it has driven us to push harder to spread the Word and the Word is Jesus Saves.

 Finally, the first song I learned in Church was Jesus Loves Me and the first song I sang in Church as solo was Jesus Loves me, the most powerful statement in that song is

  “Jesus Loves me this I know for the Bible tell me so, little ones to him belong they are weak but he is strong”

The Lord is and always will be our protector if we allow him to be.

The Lord I’m sure is happy people are seeking him these and pray is always a Powerful way to have a one-on-one Conversation with our Lord, yet I truly believe the Lord is asking everyone this question, “Due you Love Me, if so then Feed and A Tend to One Another”
